It is that time of year
When the streets of New Orleans
Start to fill up and bustle
The festive atmosphere begins to fill the air
And people flood into Louisiana
Eventually the festival begins
And the streets of New Orleans are filled with tourists
The floats pass by out in the streets
Such a vivid mixture of purple, gold, and green
And the smell of King Cake
Such an exciting festival
Its name is Mardi Gras

  1. I like how you used vivid imagery to explain Mardi Gras instead of the revealing the holiday you were talking about in the beginning of your post. I also liked your word choice when it came to describing Mardi Gras.

  2. I love the vivid details you used in the poem about Mardi Gras. I love king cake and that how it is described in my mouth.

  4. The vivid details make me feel like I'm there, in New Orleans, eating king cake
